My first comment its an easy border crossing but a test of patience so be prepared. Its going to be a long day so have some snacks and water. The border name is Horgos Border and at the border area if the officers ask you about Indian cinema sign them the I am a Disco dancer song they will feel happy .

Kazakhstan Visa​

 

- Its visa free for 16 days but consider you have only 14 days and plan accordingly. ​

 

China border :- ​

- Depending on your guide and the conditions at the border your guide might be allowed in the border area to help you to cross.( Request at the border considering that we don't know the language the border conditions they might allow)

- First as soon you as you enter the border area you will be asked to park your vehicle at a place, and they will ask unload your language. ( again if on bike have panniers and saddle bag)

- Next you will proceed to immigrations, they will take photos and check you out, again No stamp on passport as its a group visa.

- Next the rider/driver will be asked to go near vehicle for checking, then an officer will come and cross check the documents with your vehicle like vin/chaises number, engine number , check your panniers.

- Then will ask you to enter details and sign a paper do that.

- Then after waiting for a certain time than they will ask you to proceed to exit.

- One to thing to remember is your passport will not have china stamps so they will ask you about it, the only thing you will have to do is show your group visa and tell since its group visa no stamps.

Kazakhstan border:- 

- Once you exit china side the drive way towards Kazakhstan is not well marked so be slow and proceed, just find trucks moving towards Kazakhstan you will end up in front of the border control guards.

- Am Kazakh army man will call you and ask you to stop at a place, and ask you for passport and RC card.

- He will ask the brand and model of the vehicle, write it on a paper and give it you hold on to this its very important.

- Next he will ask you to proceed to checking, another army man will show up and ask you to park your vehicle at a place and unload your language (same have panniers and rack bag that the best config ) and proceed for immigrations.

- You will enter the immigrations - they will take photos, ask you a few questions about where you are heading too and about the travel and ask for RC card and passport, they will enter your vehicle details, and stamp you IN.

- Next the rider/driver will be asked to take vehicle for checking, you will go through a toll, and an army man will ask you to stop at a certain place, check your vehicle and put stamps on the paper the paper the first army man gave you.

- After checking you will be asked to stop at a certain parking place, stop there take your documents and enter into the immigrations building from the back side.

- Next you will be asked to go into a room , you will find an army am sitting there, give him your passport , RC card and the paper from the army man.

- He will enter the details and put stamps on that paper and give you a new printed paper this is called the import port paper this is very paper never lose this paper this is what you will be asked when you exit from Kazakh.

- After this you will be asked to go to another army man he will put another stamp on to that paper and tell you welcome to Kazakhstan.

- you are almost done, only once you are done with this process the co-passengers will be allowed to come out from the immigrations office.

- Next you move out from the border area, you will be stopped at a toll by an army man, he will ask you for the stamped paper, give it to him, he will not give you back that stamped paper. and he will get confirmations and then ask you to move ahead.

- Congratulations you have entered Kazakhstan.​

​​Currency and Sim :- Mostly all our ATM cards work here so nothing to worry,

-My suggestion is within 50kms towards Almaty you have fuel station and refreshing place, do not waste your money and time at the border toll hotel.

- Sim beeline sim is the best and works everywhere 8000 Tenge with unlimited internet plan you can buy this in Almaty.

Preparations for Kazakh:- 

-Reach the fuel station and refresh, fill up petrol you can pay through card. 

-At this fuel station you have free Wi-Fi, download Yandex app which is best in Kazakhstan.

-In Kazakh its good long and straight roads boring so eat something light and have chocolates, drink lots of water and keep your self hydrated.

- And when you convert cash, take one shot that would be enough for your trip.

Filling Fuel in Kazakh:-

- So filling fuel in Kazakh is self, so you will have to fill all by your self.

- 92 and 95 are the two grades of fuel available, 95 is the best so always fill 95 only if 95 is not available then go for 92.

- Here is the trick to communicate for fuel. park your vehicle in front of a pump and look for the pump number.

- Go into the counter shop, ask for calculator ( mostly it will be on the counter)

- Type 95 first, then show a thumbs up, then the pump number, they will ask how much , show in sign you need full tank or sign you need till neck like in the Dictator movie. they will give you a thumbs up.

- Then go fill your tank with the 95 marking petrol gun, have a look at how much price its been, go into the counter again and pay for your fuel.

- Don't worry people are used to slow filling time so they will wait. but once you are done move your vehicle from the pump then so and eat if you want to.

-Try this way it will be fun and they will also have fun and enjoy.
